OVERVIEW

The DTP3 R 301 is a long-distance, digital twisted pair receiver for extending HDMI, USB 2.0, audio, and bidirectional RS‑232 signals up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CAT 6A cable. It supports video resolutions up to 4K/60 at 4:4:4 color sampling and complies with HDCP 2.3. For maximum image quality and minimal latency, all supported video resolutions are transported without compression. The DTP3 R 301 features a four-port USB hub and stereo audio de-embedding for convenient installation in professional environments. The low-profile enclosure makes the DTP3 R 301 ideal for discreet placement behind displays, in equipment racks, or wherever needed to meet application requirements.

The DTP3 R 301 receiver enables the reliable, long-distance transmission of HDMI 2.0b signals at data rates up to 18 Gbps, supporting HDR, Deep Color up to 12‑bit, 3D, and embedded HD lossless audio formats. DDC communication of EDID and HDCP is continuously maintained between source and display, which ensures optimal signal transmission between devices. The DTP3 R 301 receiver can be used with a DTP3 T 301 receiver in point‑to‑point USB extension applications and is compatible with other DTP3-enabled products.

USB Signal Extension

The DTP3 R 301 supports USB 2.0 through 1.1 devices with data rates up to 480 Mbps. It is compatible with USB 3.0 devices that can operate at USB 2.0 data rates. Integrated USB signal extension enables connection to peripheral devices over the same twisted pair cable as HDMI signals. The four-port USB hub allows the connection of several USB devices such as interactive whiteboards, keyboards, mice, mass storage devices, and webcams on a single host port.

Features that Streamline Integration

To simplify integration with digital sources and displays, the DTP3 R 301 includes many integrator-friendly features that streamline installation. When HDCP-encrypted content is transmitted to a non-HDCP compliant display, a full-screen green signal is sent to the display for immediate visual confirmation that protected content cannot be viewed on that display.

Front panel LED indicators provide immediate visual confirmation of signal presence for the HDMI output, each USB connector, HDCP status, and power. In addition to an indicator for the USB host, the DTP3 R 301 receiver provides two stacked green LEDs for USB Device status, one for each port. The rear panel includes a recessed reset button to return the unit  to the factory default settings.

Convenient Control and Power

The DTP3 R 301 provides many other integrator-friendly features designed to help simplify installation. The receiver supports transmission of bidirectional RS-232 from a control system for AV device control. The control signals can be transmitted alongside the AV signal, facilitating remote operation of AV devices without the need for additional cabling. For added convenience, a USB-C® configuration port on the front panel offers ready access to information and easy updating of firmware. Configuration of the DTP3 R 301 is made simple with Extron’s PCS - Product Configuration Software. The user-friendly GUI is amazingly easy to navigate. This software application allows for expedited setup, commissioning, and real-time operation and monitoring.

The receiver can remotely power the DTP3 T 301 transmitter or another DTP3-enabled device over the shielded twisted pair cable, enabling both devices to share one power supply. Housed in a 1" (2.5 cm) high, half rack width metal enclosure, the low-profile design allows for discreet placement in tight spaces.

To ensure optimal performance, Extron recommends XTP DTP 22 cables and accessories. These 22-gauge shielded twisted pair cables, shielded RJ‑45 plugs, jacks, and couplers have been engineered for optimum performance for DTP3 products running at 18 Gbps. Extron XTP DTP 22 cable bandwidth is verified to 500 MHz and utilizes a S/FTP design with four shielded 22 AWG twisted pair conductors inside an overall braided shield for superior performance and noise immunity.

The DTP3 R 301 is ideal for a wide variety of environments requiring extension of HDMI, audio, USB data with rates up to 480 Mbps, and control signals, including courtrooms, conference and meeting spaces, classrooms, lecture halls, and houses of worship.
